Description
A man has been sentenced after being convicted of sexual assault following an incident in Middlesbrough.
On 1st July 2023, a woman in her forties was sexually assaulted whilst she slept after a group of people went back to a house after an evening out.
The woman fell asleep on the sofa and awoke in the early hours of the morning when she realised that one of the group, 53-year-old Jason Ahmed, was sexually assaulting her. When confronted he denied the offence.
Jason Ahmed, also known as Jake, from Gayton Sands in Middlesbrough, received a sentence of nine months imprisonment at Teesside Crown Court on Thursday 22nd May. He was given an indefinite restraining order and must adhere to strict sex offender notification requirements for ten years.
