A man from Newcastle-under-Lyme has been found guilty of child sexual offences following a trial.
Joseph Riley, 44, of May Bank, was convicted of attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity, intentionally touching a child in a sexual manner without consent, three charges of making indecent images of children and two charges of distributing indecent images of a child at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Wednesday (22 April).
Detective Sergeant, Katie Shufflebotham, from child protection, said:
We welcome this result after what has been a lengthy investigation.
I would like to thank the victim and their family for their bravery in coming forward.
They have shown considerable strength in supporting the investigation over the last four-and-a-half years.
Riley has been remanded in custody ahead of his sentencing date at the same court on Wednesday 10 June.
