Description
A man from Bradford has been jailed for making and distributing indecent images of children.
Police received intel from another force regarding group chats over a private messaging application where a number of indecent images of children were shared between people in that group.
Guiseppe Bottone aged 29 of Stone Street, Bradford was identified as one of those in the group that was in possession of that material.
Bradford District’s Online Child Abuse Investigation Team executed a warrant at Bottone’s address and arrested him and seized a number of devices.
Large numbers of images were found.
He was subsequently charged with three counts of making indecent images of children, two counts of distributing indecent images of children and one count of possession of extreme pornography.
At Bradford Crown Court on 22 January he was sentenced to 27 months in prison, made to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years, given a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years and ordered to pay £228 victim surcharge.
Police Constable Scott Tyson of the Bradford Districts Police Online Child Abuse Investigation Team said:
“Bottone is a dangerous online sexual predator who was in possession of more than a thousand of the most disturbing child abuse material.
“Behind every picture there is a victim of child abuse. As a police officer this is one of the most horrific cases I’ve had to deal with, the images were abhorrent.
“We are committed as a Police force to protect victims of child sexual abuse and finding those people responsible and bring them before the courts.”
