James Scott, 32, from Greaves Lane East near Malpas, has been placed on the sex offenders register for seven years after exposing himself to two women in separate incidents.

Scott admitted two counts of exposure at Chester Magistrates’ Court. He was sentenced on 6 August by District Judge Ian Barnes to three months’ imprisonment, suspended for 18 months. The order includes a Building Choices course, 20 days of rehabilitation activity and 100 hours of unpaid work.

The first offence occurred in Crewe in June, when Scott exposed his genitals to a hotel worker in a reception area after attempting to chat her up. He was arrested and released on conditional bail.

While still on bail, he committed a second offence in Middlewich in July. He exposed himself to a dog walker after twice crossing paths with her in a park on Sycamore Drive. He was arrested a few hours later on 8 July after police received a description of his car.

In interview, Scott claimed to Cheshire Police that he had been urinating while waiting for his girlfriend to return from work.

He will remain subject to sex offender notification requirements for seven years from the date of sentence.
