Frederico Santos, 25, of Bramford Road in Ipswich, was jailed for six years and three months after being convicted of rape.

The court heard that Santos raped a woman on a sofa while she was babysitting at a house in the town in May 2022.

Santos denied rape but was convicted by a jury.

Recorder Claire Davies KC said the offence had a "devastating" physical and mental impact on the victim.

He was also banned from contacting her until further notice and ordered to sign the sex offenders' register for life.
