Two men have today been jailed following the rape and sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in Southampton in December 2024.

Damian Andre Martin, 48, of Millbrook Road West, appeared at Southampton Crown Court today (Friday 25 April) where he was sentenced to 14 years in prison for rape, sexual assault, two counts of assault by penetration, assault by beating and taking a child so as to keep him/her from a person having lawful control. Martin will also have a five year extended license and be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and the Sex Offender's Register for the rest of his life.

Gurdev Singh Rathore, 50, of Milton Road, appeared at the same court where he was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for sexual assault and causing a female 13 or over to engage in a non-penetrative sexual activity. Rathore will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and the Sex Offender's Register for the rest of his life.

Police received a report on Friday 27 December that some time overnight on Thursday 26 December into Friday 27 December the girl was raped by a man and sexually assaulted by a second man at an address in the St Mary’s area, both of whom she had met that evening.

The girl reported that she met the two men as she was walking along St. Mary Street. A short time later, Martin raped her and sexually assaulted her. She was then taken to an address on Chapel Road where Rathore sexually assaulted her.

Rathore and Martin both pleaded guilty to the charges against them and have now been jailed for a combined total of 18 and a half years.

On sentencing, His Honour Judge Christopher Parker told both men: "That detention of her in those terrible circumstances must have been unimaginably horrific for those close to her, but for her as a 13-year-old child to have been raped and taken to a flat, abused further sexually in turn by the pair of you must have been - as she describes it - absolutely horrendous and she was in fear of her life."

He told Martin that his behaviour was so dreadful that he could not be considered to be safe around young vulnerable children.

A depraved predator who victimised two young children has been jailed at Minshull Street Crown Court today (Friday 25 April 2025) for 11 years and four months following an investigation by our Online Child Abuse Investigation Team (OCAIT) in conjunction with our Digital Forensic Investigation Unit (DFIU).

He was also given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and will be placed on the Sex Offenders' Register.

Carl Sinderby (24/04/1982) of Manchester Road, Rochdale, was found guilty of 20 offences, broken down to ten counts of sexual assault, two counts of causing a child to watch a sexual act, two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, as well as six counts of taking and making indecent images of children.

This campaign of abuse occurred over a three-year period, ending in July 2024. At the time it started, the two children were only five and seven.

Sinderby came to the attention of our OCAIT team following information passed onto us by a partner agency. An investigation was immediately initiated, and evidence of abhorrent abuse was discovered by our specially trained digital investigators on devices seized from his property. The digital side of this investigation was extensive, and included reviewing thousands of videos and images.

Once the abuse was uncovered, Sinderby was arrested and interviewed over two days by detectives. He made a full confession around his prolonged abuse of the children, admitting to having a sexual interest in children and that he had harmed them to satisfy his needs. Not only was this a case of significant grooming of the children, but also of building the trust of the parents, only to exploit it without their knowledge.

Detective Sergeant Greevy from our OCAIT said, “What Carl Sinderby has done to this family, particularly these children, is nothing short of cruel.

“The children’s wellbeing and safety has been at the forefront of our investigation, as has getting justice for them.

“I know they may be too young to fully comprehend what has happened to them, but they were incredibly brave in telling us some of the things Sinderby was doing to them whilst they were in his care. Ultimately, their disclosures have led to us being able to investigate thoroughly, get admissions during his police interview, and build a strong case to take to the Crown Prosecution Service.

“We are absolutely committed to removing offenders like Sinderby from the streets, as the danger he poses to society, particularly children, is significant. I’m confident that with him behind bars, the streets of Greater Manchester are safer.

“Despite this positive result, his impact remains, and this family now must pick up the pieces and rebuild their life. I hope this sentence makes that a little bit easier for them.”

A man who was found guilty of the repeated rape of a woman at addresses in Eastleigh and Southampton has now been jailed.

Ashley Scott Hudson, 30, of Chapel Drove in Eastleigh, appeared at Southampton Crown Court today (Friday 25 April) where he was sentenced to 16 years in prison.

Back in January, a jury sitting at the same court found Hudson guilty of six counts of rape and one count of attempted rape.

The jury were told how in November 2021 a woman in her 20s reported to police that Hudson had raped her on six occasions between August 2019 and October 2021, as well as attempting to rape her on one occasion.

Hudson was arrested and charged with the offences but denied them, and the case went to a trial which began on Tuesday 14 January at Southampton Crown Court.

The court heard how on each occasion Hudson had repeatedly ignored the woman involved when she told him she didn’t want to have sex with him. 

Despite denying the offences, the jury found Hudson guilty a week after the trial began, on January 21st.

He has now been sentenced to 16 years in prison with an additional five years extended licence. He will also be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a restraining order indefinitely.

A traumatised young girl was left suffering nightmares and serious "mentally torturing" problems after she was "led down a dark path" of sexual abuse that "twisted" her brain.

She "went off the rails" because of what happened to her and she felt that she had lost everything because of the "constant trauma" of her ordeal, a court heard.

Daniel Holmes, 33, formerly of Grimsby, was convicted by a jury of attempted rape of a girl under 13, sexual assault and assault by penetration during an incident in the town. The verdicts came after a trial at Grimsby Crown Court that ended on March 7.

Craig Lowe, prosecuting, told a sentencing hearing at Hull Crown Court that the girl was left with injuries after the sexual abuse. She told the court in a statement that she would have to live with the impact of what happened to her for the rest of her life.

She said that the sexual abuse "twisted my brain" and she "went off the rails" because of it. "This man has ruined my life," she said. "He has taken everything away from me. His actions have changed me as a person. He has taken my innocence."

The life that she was born to have had been taken away from her. "My relationship with men has been warped because of him," she said. "I have lost out on my future."

She suffered nightmares of Holmes and she had "always felt dirty". It was "mentally torturing" and she struggled with this daily. "I was led down a dark path of what I thought was normal," she said.

The girl suffered "constant trauma" in her life. "My life has been in pieces because of what happened," she said. She and her family had to try to put together that which Holmes smashed. "I know that this will always be with me," she said. "For me, it's a life sentence."

Dale Brook, mitigating, said that any offence of this sort was likely to cause some psychological impact on a victim but the girl said in her first statement: "All in all, I'm better now." The offences happened on a single occasion.

"These are incredibly serious offences," said Mr Brook. Holmes had no previous similar convictions. "There has been a lack of offending since the incident took place a few years ago," said Mr Brook.

Holmes had two warnings for arson and shoplifting when he was aged 14 and 15, the court. There were two references for him. "The references talk about him in very positive terms," said Mr Brook.

Judge Richard Woolfall told Holmes: "You took away her innocence. She has had to endure the memory of that. As a result of what you did to her, she hates herself and she feels like everything has been taken away from her. She has lost her self-worth.

"These are very serious offences indeed. You are in denial. There is no remorse that you have expressed. You have maintained your innocence. You maintain that she is not telling the truth.

"There is, therefore, no remorse. I can't make any reduction because you haven't expressed any remorse. There is an element here of targeting a vulnerable child."

Holmes, recently of North Street, Cannock, Staffordshire, was jailed for 13 years. He was given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and an indefinite restraining order. He had been in custody on remand while awaiting sentence following conviction but he was originally on bail.

An Arbroath pensioner has been found guilty of sexually touching a woman and a girl at a Christmas function.

Keith Clark was placed on the sex offenders register after being found guilty of inappropriate touching at the festive bash which had been booked to take place in a masonic hall in Monifieth.

A MAN has been jailed for 14 years for multiple sexual offences against women and children.

Simon Arden appeared at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, April 17, where he was handed the sentence.

The 41-year-old, of Macclesfield, had previously been found guilty of multiple offences.

These included rape, sexual assault, exposure, sexual assault of a child under 13, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

In April 2024, police received reports of rape and sexual assault committed by Arden between 2011 and 2021 against multiple victims.

A woman told police she had been sexually assaulted by Arden multiple times when she was a child.

He also exposed himself in front of her and engaged in sexual activity in her presence.

Further victims also spoke to police. Another woman told officers Arden had raped her in 2013. He had also sexually assaulted her and exposed himself to her.

A further victim disclosed Arden had exposed himself to her in 2016.

Meanwhile, a teenager told police she had also been sexually assaulted by Arden as a child.

Arden was subsequently arrested and later charged in relation to the offences.

He was found guilty on Friday, February 21, following a two-week trial at Chester Crown Court.

On top of the custodial sentence, Arden has also been issued with indefinite restraining orders against the victims and is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

A Coventry man has been convicted of indecent exposure and sexual assault following an incident in the city this week.

Ranjit Sadra appeared before magistrates today (24 April) where he pleaded guilty to the charges.

The 45-year-old approached a woman in War Memorial Park in Cheylesmore, exposed himself and then undressed while other members of the public were nearby, including young children.

He also touched another woman inappropriately elsewhere in the park.

Officers were called to the park where they arrested Sadra and charged him with indecent exposure and sexual assault.

At his hearing today, Sadra pleaded guilty and was remanded in custody before his sentencing at Coventry Crown Court on 22 May.

A man who raped and sexually assaulted women he met on a dating app described as 'predatory' has today (Thursday 24 April) been jailed for 12 years.

Jamie Kadolski, aged 24, of Ladysmith Road, Norwich, was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court following a trial at the same court in November 2024 where he was found guilty of three counts of rape,  three sexual offences against one woman and a total of three sexual offences against two other women.

Kadolski was sentenced to a total of 12 years in prison and three years on extended licence. 

Kadolski first came to the attention of police in January 2023 when a women who had met him on a dating app reported a sexual assault. He was arrested and questioned and released on bail while further enquiries were made. In September 2023 two other women contacted police to say they too had been assaulted by him.

Kadolski was charged in April 2024 and remanded in custody until his trial.

The court heard that some of the victims reported Kadolski wearing an ambulance service uniform to gain their trust before he assaulted them. Kadolski had previously worked as an ambulance call handler and a hospital healthcare assistant and had retained uniforms and ID cards associated with those roles even though he was not permitted to. In fact when officers attended Kadolski's home after his arrest they found an array of uniforms and medical equipment he was not entitled to have or use.

Kadolski was not a paramedic but had posted a photograph on social media of himself wearing paramedic epaulettes. He'd previously worked as a first aider at private events and manipulated that green coloured uniform to make it look like he was a paramedic.  The court heard how he also used stickers on his ID card to hide the more junior roles he had held in healthcare settings.

In statements read out in court his victims told of the impact Kadolski's attacks had had on them.

One woman said: "Almost every night I have these nightmares that Jamie's got into my house and comes into my room and rapes me over and over then I wake up, having just relived all of it again, and then have to go about my day as normal.

"I used to go out almost every weekend and had a very vibrant social life, now I'm lucky if I see my friends once through the month because I just do not feel comfortable outside my own house."

Another woman told how the attack affected a recent hospital admission. She said : "I demanded to leave because I was so triggered by the healthcare workers.

"Every worker had Jamie's face and every footstep was his. I am a wreck and a shell of who I once was.

"Wherever I go, I look for the exit and stay as close to it as possible. I have forgotten what it feels like to be safe"

Detective Constable Claire Floyd, who led the investigation, described Kadolski as "predatory and remorseless" and paid tribute to his victims for coming forward.

She said: "The incredible strength and courage these women have shown throughout the investigation and criminal justice process cannot be overstated.

"All have suffered truly traumatic ordeals at Kadolski's hands. It is thanks to them that he is now behind bars and no longer able to cause harm to anyone else.

“Although no sentence can ever make up for what happened to these women, I hope today's result can give them some sense of comfort that this dangerous and manipulative sexual predator will be in prison for a significant period of time."

Kadolski was also handed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and indefinite Restraining Order and will have to sign the Sex Offenders' Register for life.

A convicted sex offender who admitted sexually assaulting three women in Boston has been jailed for 21 months.

Andrew Lack, 57, used his job as a gardener to approach vulnerable women in Boston.

Lincoln Crown Court heard on Thursday (April 24) Lack approached one of his victims on a street in Boston and kissed her on the lips after previously offering to do her garden.

The woman insisted she did not consent to the kiss and said it made her feel sick.

A second woman described how Lack also kissed her on the cheek after engaging her in a sexual conversation outside her home in Boston on November 10, 2023.

Lack then pulled the woman towards him and kissed her on the lips.

A third woman reported being repeatedly "groped" on the bottom by Lack who also kissed the top of her head.

Lack gave no comment interviews to the police.

The court heard Lack had a previous conviction for touching a young woman on a train near Sleaford in 2014 and was jailed for 19 months in 2017 for sexually assaulting two elderly women.

Lack, 57, of Maud Street, Boston, pleaded guilty to five charges of sexual assault between 2019 and 2023.

Anna Soubry, mitigating for Lack, said he had insisted that he was "very sorry."

Miss Soubry said: "The best point I can make on behalf of this man is that he pleaded guilty, and at the first opportunity, sparing the victims giving evidence.

"He was arrested in November 2023 and has not committed any offences since."

Passing sentence Recorder Adrian Jack told Lack his previous convictions suggested he posed an ongoing risk to women.

"The problem is you have not dissimilar convictions in 2014 and 2017," Recorder Jack said.

A restraining order was also made which prevents Lack having any contact with the three victims.

A woman has bravely spoken out after she and another victim were assaulted by a child sex offender from East Bergholt, who has now been jailed for 12 years.

The two women spoke to Essex Police in 2022 to disclose the historic offences committed by 36-year-old Lloyd Prior.

Prior, of Broom Knoll in East Bergholt, was accused of multiple sexual offences against the two women, who were children at the time of the offences, between 2005 and 2013.

He pleaded not guilty and stood trial at Chelmsford Crown Court on 20 January 2025, and a jury found him guilty of 10 charges – three counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, three counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, and two counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.

He was sentenced to 12 years in prison at the same court on Wednesday 23 April.

A child sex offender from Newcastle-under-Lyme has been jailed.

Paul Leon, aged 63, of Kidsgrove, was given a 10-year sentence at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Thursday 17 April after he was previously found guilty following a trial of two counts of sexual assault of a girl.

The offences happened more than five years ago before the victim bravely came forward and told someone what happened to her.

We started work to build the case and questioned Leon in custody. He denied everything and continued to deny it until a jury deemed him guilty following a trial in November last year.

As part of his sentencing, Leon was given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

A registered sex offender has been jailed after pleading guilty to online sex offences.

Martin Rudd, 45, from Elizabeth Street, Blackpool appeared in Preston Crown Court today (Thursday 24 April) where he was sentenced to 20 months custody after pleading guilty to attempted sexual communication with a child, attempted breach of Sexual Harm Prevention Order and breach of Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

The court heard that between 10 January and 22 January 2025, Rudd engaged in a sexual communication with a male under 16 years old. During those conversations Rudd described the sexual acts he was intending to do with the child. 

In March 2025, Rudd was arrested at his home address by detectives from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU). He was found to be in breach of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

A man who attacked and raped a woman in Bristol more than 23 years ago has been jailed for ten-and-a-half years.

Inderjit Singh Bains, 46, of Heneage Lane, Falfield, committed the attack on a woman after picking her up in his van.

The victim, now in her fifties, reported the incident to the police in January 2022 and had crucially memorised the offender’s number plate, which helped lead to his identification and arrest.

A jury unanimously found Bains guilty of rape and actual bodily harm following a trial at Bristol Crown Court in March.

At the sentencing hearing held earlier today (Friday 25 April) in Bains’ absence, Judge James Patrick said the offence involved “a degree of abduction” and the attack was “prolonged and persistent”, which had a “long-standing emotional effect” on the victim.

Bains picked up the victim, who was in the street sex trade, in his white panel van in the St Werburghs area of the city at around 1am on 10 January, 2002. The van had been circling the area and eventually stopped outside a pub, where Bains beckoned to the victim to go over.

After agreeing a fee, Bains drove towards Eastgate, where the victim had asked to go. But he didn’t turn off and headed up the M32 towards Frenchay, where he stopped in a secluded area off Stoke Lane.

The victim asked for payment first, which Bains pretended to reach for in his jacket pocket before punching her repeatedly to the face and body, causing her to lose and swallow a tooth.

He then raped her, without using a condom, before telling her to get dressed and driving her back into the city.

To protect others, the victim made a report to the One25 Project, which supports women in the street sex trade, soon after the attack. This report included a detailed description of the offender as well as his number plate

In an impact statement read to the court, the victim said: “The immediate impact of this crime on me was so traumatic that I used heroin to suppress any emotional impact, the physical impacts of the attack healed after time, but the emotional impact will stay with me forever.

“The flashbacks, panic attacks and nightmares I have continue to this day. I truly thought I was going to die that night, that kind of trauma is not easily fixed.

“There is still so much judgement and stigma around women who are trapped in the lifestyle I was, that it’s easier to let people think I’m crazy, as how do I explain what happened to me?

“For me to come forward again all these years later was the hardest decision I had to make, as I didn’t trust the police or the justice system to take me or the crime against me seriously…I didn’t realise how much emotional trauma I’d locked away about the attack.

“If it wasn’t for the empathetic, non-judgemental nature of my investigating officer, I would never have put myself through the retraumatising effects of a trial, but I am told this is also part of my healing process.

“Going to court was terrifying, especially having to face him, but I’m so glad I did as I see him not as a monster, but as a coward who preys on the most vulnerable people in society.”

Speaking afterwards, the victim added she also wanted to thank the jury for believing her and delivering a guilty verdict in this case.

A PERVERT who filmed videos of naked women in the changing room cubicles at a leisure centre has been jailed.

Richard Halck, formerly of Winsford, was caught on August 22, 2023, filming one of his victims on his mobile phone.

The woman, at Winsford Lifestyle Centre, calmly got dressed before alerting staff to the 38-year-old's offence. 

She also asked a member of the public to prevent Halck, now of Landor Way, Stafford, from leaving before police arrived.

Halck was arrested before his phone was seized and analysed, revealing several other videos of women filmed without their knowledge.

The videos were all filmed between July 7, 2022, and August 22, 2023, at various locations across Winsford.

Police officers were able to identify three of the victims, however a number of others have never been identified.

Halck was charged with eight counts of voyeurism, which he pleaded guilty to at Chester Magistrates Court on March 25.

After the lower court decided it did not have the necessary sentencing powers, the case was sent to Chester Crown Court.

Halck appeared at the crown court on Thursday, April 24, where His Honour Judge Simon Berkson jailed him for 55 weeks.

Judge Berkson also ordered Halck to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years, as well as handing him a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and restraining order to prevent him contacting his victims.

Detective Constable Sarah Ollier, who led the investigation for Cheshire Police, said: "Firstly, I would like to praise the courage of the victims in this case.

"To discover that someone has filmed you without your consent must have been terrifying, but thanks to their bravery he has now been held accountable.

"Halck’s actions have had a lasting impact on his victims, who were simply going about their daily business.

"He violated his victims’ personal space and privacy, filming them without their consent in places that they should be able to feel safe.

"This result reinforces our commitment to tackling violence against women and girls, we will prevent, deter and take action against anyone who preys on women and girls."

A man deemed to be a danger to teenage girls has been handed a strict court order that restricts his behaviour for five years.

The sexual risk order (SRO) was placed on Amadu Tavares, 23, of Watergall, Bretton, Peterborough at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday, April 24).

An SRO is a civil order which can be sought by the police against someone who has not been convicted or cautioned of any offence but is thought to pose a risk of harm.

The conditions state Tavares must not:

• Contact or attempt to contact any girl under the age of 18, directly or indirectly, except as is an unavoidable part of daily life, or unless supervised by an adult with knowledge of the SRO
• Be present in any premises at which any girl under the age of 18 resides for more than 12 hours within any 24-hour period, save with family members previously notified to police and the supervision of an adult with knowledge of the order
• Follow or loiter near any girl under the age of 18 in a public place
• Be in any road vehicle (not including buses) with a girl under the age of 18

Tavares is also further required to make any device capable of accessing the internet in his possession available for examination on request by police. This includes giving relevant PINs and passwords.

He must also:

• Stop immediately for a police officer when requested whether in a vehicle, any other mode of transport or on foot
• Disclose all social media handles, accounts and ‘apps’ to police

PC Adriana Leaver Hernandez, from the force’s Child Exploitation Hub, said: “Tavares has shown he is a high-risk sexual predator who targets and exploits girls, with a significant number of reports made against him.

“He takes advantage of the fact he is older and uses alcohol and drugs to entice his victims – all young teenage girls - and then exploits them.

“Tavares targets vulnerable teenagers who often go missing and are at high risk of child sexual exploitation (CSE) and has shown he is sexually attracted to them.

“This order is necessary to prevent further sexual harm to children and protect women and girls.

“Sexual risk orders do not place the burden on the victim to provide an evidential account and create a safer place for victims, especially children, to speak to police.

“We would strongly encourage anyone with any concerns that a child may be being exploited to report this to us and the local authority.”
