A teenager who blackmailed children into making sexually explicit videos has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years detention. Glen Wilson, 19, persuaded girls as young as 12 to send him images and films, which he offered to share with fellow paedophiles. Perth Sheriff Court was told one of the children had been left suicidal. Wilson, of Longforgan, Perthshire, admitted 23 charges of extortion and possessing child abuse material. The offences took place between between September 2015 and June last year. Wilson was also placed on the sex offenders register for life and will be subject to an 18-month supervised release period. Sheriff Gillian Wade described Wilson's actions as "despicable." Wilson targeted victims from as far afield as London, Wales, Sheffield, Derby, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The court heard previously that he chatted to the girls on social media sites before persuading them to send him photographs in various stages of undress. Wilson then sent them back a screenshot with their contacts and told them he would send the picture of them to their friends and family if they did not comply with his requests. 'Significantly distressed' The girls were scared of being exposed to their families and complied with Wilson's demands. Wilson told one victim: "You have two options. You either do what I ask or I send. "Block me, delete me, report me, tell your parents - do any of these things and I press the send button." He told another child: "I don't want to ruin your life, but I will if you make me." Defence solicitor George Donnelly said: "He came from a happy, settled background. "His remorse is absolute and unconditional. His university career is over. "These are quite frankly dreadful offences with serious consequences for the complainers." Sheriff Wade told Wilson: "It is most regrettable that someone with your potential will now spend a significant amount of time in jail. "These children were significantly distressed by your threats and one indicated she was feeling suicidal. "However, you continued to pressurise her to send further images despite that knowledge. "The nature of the messages you sent was despicable."

A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for a string of disturbing sexual assaults, which included touching womens buttocks in public. Desislav Branimov Ivanov, whose address was given as Grampian Prison, appeared at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday. At an earlier hearing his address was given simply as Shetlands North Mainland. Ivanov had previously pleaded guilty to eight charges of intentionally or recklessly sexually touching a number of women and a child between May and August this year. Sentencing was deferred at the time for background reports. This week the court heard a narration of the charges from procurator fiscal Duncan MacKenzie, who said that Ivanov had engaged in a course of conduct redolent of a most unusual form of sexual fetishism. Mr MacKenzie said that Ivanov appeared to achieve sexual gratification from surreptitiously touching unsuspecting females on the buttocks and from visually recording the contact on mobile phones. Police examining material on two mobile phones and a laptop belonging to Ivanov found over 7,000 videos of concern over a period of three years, the fiscal said, adding that only a handful were taken in Shetland. The majority were taken abroad and fell outside of the jurisdiction of the court, Mr MacKenzie said. Police first became involved after a woman was sexually assaulted on two separate occasions at the Brae Co-op supermarket. On 7th August Ivanov rubbed his hand across her buttocks, the charge states. There was a distinct sense of disbelief, Mr MacKenzie said, and when the woman later reported the incident to her husband she was visually distressed. At the same supermarket later that month Ivanov dropped his hat next to the same womans feet. As he crouched to retrieve his hat he then pressed his face against her buttocks while filming himself. A member of staff and another shopper were alerted by her screams, Mr MacKenzie said, and police were informed. Officers seized CCTV footage of both incidents. The fiscal added that there was no suggestion that the accused was following the complainer and that her twice ending up in the supermarket at the same time as him seems to have just been a coincidence. After being identified in CCTV footage Ivanov was detained and interviewed by police, though he answered no comment to most questions. Police seized two mobile phones and a laptop and an initial search turned up 209 videos of concern. Three of those videos were identified as having taken place in Shetland leading to a further three charges being brought against Ivanov, who was by then taken into custody where he remained after being refused bail. This gave police more time to begin an onerous investigation which would eventually turn up over 7,000 videos of concern, Mr MacKenzie said. Disturbing Eight charges were eventually brought against Ivanov, including one involving touching a child aged between 13 and 16 on the buttocks. In another incident Ivanov was said to have placed his hand on the buttocks of a woman on a bus. Mr MacKenzie said that the charges amounted to a disturbing course of conduct which was achieved with no concern for the distress that its caused the complainers. In mitigation defence agent Tommy Allan said that Ivanovs behaviour was clearly very bizarre. I dont have an explanation for it, he added. In some of the cases its extremely fleeting, Mr Allan said, adding that the incidents did not progress towards groping or fondling and that some of the victims arent even aware of it. Nonetheless, his client had to accept that it caused distress to the complainers who were conscious of what had happened. Ivanov appears to have some kind of compulsion, the defence agent added, noting that he had previously received psychological attention for an amphetamine addiction. By way of punishment his client, whose parents live in Bulgaria, actually favoured the option of deportation Mr Allan said, also noting that Ivanov had already spent the equivalent of a six-month jail term in custody. Sheriff Philip Mann said that if taken in isolation Ivanovs offences probably did not merit a custodial sentence for a first-time offender, but the total number of offences led him to favour a custodial sentence. He said: When one considers that there are eight charges in total it paints a very disturbing picture of a course of offending which it is clear causes great distress and anxiety to those who are aware that they have been targeted in this way. He sentenced Ivanov to two months in custody for each of the seven charges involving adult females and a further six months for the offence involving a child, running to a total of 20 months. The time in prison will be backdated to when Ivanov first entered custody in August. The sheriff also granted a Crown motion for forfeiture of the two mobile phones and the laptop seized as part of the police investigation. As for Ivanovs desire to be deported, that was a matter for the Home Office, Sheriff Mann said.

Jordan Saunders has been locked up for three years after admitting sexual activity with three underage girls

A predatory man has been locked up for three years after admitting sexual activity with three other teenagers when he was aged 17.

Jordan Saunders, now 18, groomed his three victims, who were aged 15, 14, and 13, prosecutors at Portsmouth Crown Court said.

The court heard he targeted all three girls, urged them to send him naked photos of themselves and sent them explicit messages and pictures as well.

Saunders, who then lived in Gosport, Hampshire, persuaded the 13 year old to meet him at Eastleigh train station, Hants, where he was caught on CCTV engaged in sexual activity.

As a result he was sentenced to an 18 month suspended term in a Young Offenders Institution, after admitting three offences of sexual activity with a child including digital penetration.

Just eight days after being given that sentence he contacted another girl, 15, who said she pressured to send him photos of her breasts.

Saunders sent messages to a third girl, aged 14, talking about sex toys and later met her at the same train station, where he groped her.

This time he admitted a charge of failing to report for unpaid work, failing to comply with sex offender notification requirements and four breaches of a sexual harm prevention order after deleting apps on his phone and staying at an address for more than seven days.

He also admitted a charge of communication with a child for the purpose of gaining sexual gratification, two charges of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, and a charge of sexual activity with a child.

He will serve his sentence in a young offenders institution and was placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years. His phones were forfeited and destroyed.

Sentencing him, Recorder Rufus Taylor said: You are and do pose a serious risk.

After the case, Acting Detective Inspector Howard Broadribb said: Saunders is a predatory offender who deliberately targeted vulnerable young girls.

During a routine enquiry at his address, officers became suspicious of activity on his internet browsing history and social media channels.

Computer devices were seized and forensically examined which identified a number of children Saunders had been communicating with.

When we visited those children it was clear that Saunders had been exchanging sexual messaging with them, and had been grooming them.

A PAEDOPHILE who made a fake social media account to groom a 12-year-old girl has been jailed for four years.

Phillip Jackson, pictured, made a Facebook profile pretending to be a band member from Bars and Melody, who rose to fame through television show Britain’s Got Talent.

The 38-year-old landscape gardener, from Wisborough Green, began messaging the girl in 2014 and sent her indecent images of himself, later persuading her to send nude pictures to him.

The girl’s mother found out and notified police immediately.

When officers arrested Jackson they seized his laptop, on which they uncovered more than 500 indecent images of children.

Jackson was found guilty of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and possession of indecent images of children earlier this month, and was given four years in jail.

He will also be a registered sex offender for life.

He was also issued a sexual harm prevention order, severely restricting his access to children and computers.

Terence Patrick Corcoran, 48, scoured the web for depraved shots of children as young as six.

Corcoran, a former director of a financial-services company in Scarborough, downloaded 11,236 images, York Crown Court heard.

The businessman was arrested after police raided his home in Scarborough and seized two laptops and an iPad for forensic analysis.

They found thousands of “live” images and others which had been deleted by the disgraced financial expert.

He admitted three counts of making indecent images of children and appeared for sentence on Friday.

Dressed in a smart suit, Corcoran, of Heron Lane, Crossgates, sat with his head bowed in the dock for much of the hearing.

Prosecutor Rob Galley said the vast majority of indecent images were rated Category C - the least serious - but police also found 235 Category A images, featuring the worst kind of child porn.

There were a further 140 images rated Category B. The offensive material was downloaded between May 2011 and December 2012.

Police swooped on Corcoran’s home in May 2014 after suspicious internet activity had been traced to his computers. Corcoran was hauled in for questioning and admitted downloading a “vast amount” of child pornography but claimed it wasn’t deliberate and that he hadn’t actively searched for vile material.

He told officers he had been on morphine at the time following a series of serious health scares.

Mr Galley said Corcoran may have stored other “inappropriate” images on an external drive which had never been recovered.

He said Corcoran had deliberately searched for child porn and installed “easy-hide” software to browse the web anonymously.

The businessman used extremely graphic searched terms and those for specific ages of young children.

The barrister said the age children featured in the photos and video clips ranged from six to 14.

Corcoran’s barrister Silis Reid said the businessman had serious, genetic heart problems at the time and underwent 11 operations, including open-heart surgery, between 2010 and 2014.

He said Corcoran was convinced he was going to die during this period but managed to run a “very-successful” financial-services business which he had been forced to abandon since his arrest.

He added that Corcoran, who has no previous convictions, was “everything one would want a member of society to be” before his offending and had done charity work.

He said Corcoran had been receiving counselling and taken steps “to ensure this (type of offending) doesn’t happen again in the home”.

Judge Andrew Stubbs QC said there were “plain indications” that Corcoran had deliberately sought out sexual images of children in "visible pain”.

He said the “large volume” of material found on his computers had been aggravated by the fact that Corcoran had used “wiping” software to delete some of the images.

The judge added, however, that “substantial mitigation” - including Corcoran’s serious health issues and his “fatalistic attitude” at the time of the offences - meant that he could step back from a term of immediate imprisonment.

Mr Stubbs told Corcoran: “I am satisfied that there is a realistic prospect of rehabilitation, although it is plain that there is still some work to be done with you and your attitude.”

Corcoran was given a four-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and ordered to sign on the sex-offenders’ register for seven years.

Mr Stubbs also made a sexual-harm prevention order which includes internet strictures designed to prevent Corcoran reoffending or deleting images.

A paedophile dwarf who incited two teenage girls to carry out sex acts online has avoided prison because he would have a 'very hard time'.

Bryan Anthony Bowen, of Welshpool, Powys, contacted the children, aged 13 and 15, on their Facebook pages, where he asked them for sex and to send naked photos.

In one message to the older girl, Bowen, 26, wrote: 'I will f*** you for your birthday present', Mold Crown Court heard.

He was handed a 48-week prison sentence, suspended for two years.

During his sentencing, Bowen was described by Judge Rhys Rowland as 'small in stature and emotionally inadequate' - and that he would have a 'very hard time' in prison, according to The Sun.

Anna Price, prosecuting, told the court. that the 15-year-old girl had attempted to block Bowen after he had sent her a message saying 'Do you want to f***?'.

It was after this that he sent the girl the obscene 'birthday present' message.

Police found another message on his laptop to the 13-year-old, whom he described as 'fit as f***' and inquired whether she had a boyfriend.

When Bowen was arrested, he said that he thought the girls were over 16.

He later admitted the two incitement charges, which occurred between July and October 2015. A further harassment charge was dropped.

Defending, Dafydd Roberts urged the judge not to jail Bowen, who has learning difficulties.

Bowen was given a rehabilitation order, which includes a three-month curfew between 9pm and 7am.

He was also given a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and placed on the Sex Offenders' Register.

One said he was very touchy-feely and made her skin crawl although she wasnt aware of any complaints of impropriety being made to Tesco management. The offences Smith committed are a stark reminder that behind every image is a real tale of abuse and suffering. I am glad he has at least owned up to his crimes and will now face the consequences for his deplorable actions. He was put on the sex offenders' register for life.

A 70-year-old serial sex offender will almost certainly die in prison after being jailed for 23 years for sexually abusing four young girls over a period spanning some three decades.

Pensioner Michael Grimes pleaded guilty to 17 counts of child abuse against four young girls.

The judge described his actions as ‘beyond normal human comprehension’ and said they were ‘vile, despicable, and perverted’.

Grimes, of Croft Green, Dunstable, was sentenced at Luton Crown Court on Friday.

As well as the sentence, he was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.

He was caught after police received information that an IP address linked to his home was being used to download indecent images of young children.

Police then raided his home and they found devices containing more than 4,600 indecent images of children and babies, including almost 1,000 of the most severe category.

During their investigations, four women came forward to claim they had been sexually abused by Grimes.

The abuse spanned over a period of some 30 years.

A rapist has complained that he is being ripped off when he buys olive oil and tins of tuna or mackerel fillets in jail after conducting a price comparison survey from his cell.

Adam Marchment, who was jailed for ten years in April last year for raping a 15-year-old girl and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl, said he was sick of paying higher prices than people pay on the outside.

The 26-year-old carried out research from his cell at HMP Parkhurst on the Isle of Wight which now, along with HMP Albany is called HMP Isle of Wight even getting a family member on the outside to check prices online and at major supermarkets.

Writing in this months edition of prisoners magazine Inside Time, Marchment said: Like many others, I am really starting to get frustrated by HMPPS (Her Majestys Prison and Probation Service) responses to the many prisoners complaining about our privatised, over-priced canteen system.

The heavily-tattooed inmate said he tested claims made by prison chiefs that it was not allowed to charge over the market recommended retail price, adding: I tested this theory and had a family member outside do some checks.

On Princes.co.uk they state that the RRP for a tin of mackerel fillets in tomato sauce is 1.45, yet DHL sell them to us for 1.75.

I also had a comparison website checked and none of the top supermarkets had the same item priced at over 1.40.

In fact at most supermarkets you can get 4 tins for 5.

A bag of Nescafe coffee original 150g, is 2.99, yet DHL sells this item to us for 3.99.

He added: DHL continue to rip us off and are getting away with it.

It is about time HMPPS stopped ignoring this situation and realise that prisoners have access to the outside world and will question the utter rubbish they try to feed us.

Marchment, of Farnham, Surrey, was jailed for ten years at Guildford Crown Court in April 2016 after admitting one count of sexual assault on a 14-year-old girl in September 2015 and was found guilty of raping a 15-year-old girl in July 2014.

The court heard how police launched a manhunt for the rapist in October 2014 after he breached his licence conditions.

Marchment was on the run for more than a month, and even taunted cops on social media, putting a video called Man on the Run on YouTube bragging about how officers couldnt catch him.

Speaking on the video at the time wearing sunglasses and a hoodie he said: Hello everyone, Im Adam Marchment and as you all know I am a wanted man. I have now been on the run for 37 days.

Ive got a little message for Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire Police run run as fast as you can, you cant catch me Im the Marchment man.

He was caught soon after posting the video online.

Bosses at the HMPPS said that it was mindful of the need to provide value for money to the taxpayer in all our contracted services.

It said, however, in a response to criticism over canteen prices in Inside Time that all public sector prisons must operate a cost-neutral contract, at no cost to the public.

It stated that prisons must use the National Product List (NPL) in offering items to prisoners, and is not permitted to charge over the market recommended retail price for any of the products sold.

A Prison Service spokesperson said: Products sold through the prison canteen service are never higher than the manufacturers recommended retail price.

Becky Watts' killers, Nathan Matthews and Shauna Hoare, will be the centre of a brand-new ITV documentary tonight.

Becky Watts: The Police Tapes sees Susanna Reid gain unprecedented access to police interview room footage to reveal the strategy and skill involved in catching Becky's killers.

There is also first-person testimony from some of the officers, and Susanna talks to Becky's family about the impact of this appalling crime.

Becky, 16, was brutally killed in what was described as a sexually-motivated attack before her body was then dismembered and dumped in a shed.

Matthews, 29, was found guilty of murder and jailed for life with a 33-year minimum term, while Hoare, 22, was convicted of manslaughter and jailed for 17 years.

Both were convicted of conspiracy to kidnap, perverting the course of justice, preventing a lawful burial and possessing two stun guns.

Nathan Matthews and Shauna Hoare were both found guilty of the killing of 16-year-old Becky two years ago, at Bristol Crown Court.

Matthews, Becky's stepbrother, was found guilty of murder while his girlfriend Hoare was found guilty of manslaughter , after the pair planned to kidnap the 16-year-old before she was murdered and her body cut up into eight parts.

A jury found the pair guilty of conspiring to kidnap Becky before she was suffocated to death while at her Crown Hill home on February 19, 2015.

Hoare was also found guilty of perverting the course of justice, prevention of an unlawful burial and possession of a stun.

Matthews, who was aged 29 at the time, was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum 33-year term.

He launched an appeal against his conviction and sentence which was rejected in 2016.

Although unable to find legal representation to help him appeal his conviction - he ended up submitting grounds of appeal he had written himself - he was represented by Adam Vaitlingham QC over his sentence.

The barrister said that, while Becky's killing was 'obviously a terrible offence', the judge set too high a minimum term.

Matthews and Hoare, who lived together in housing association terraced house in Bristol, had exchanged intimate messages about kidnapping girls.

The pair went to Becky's home armed with a “kidnap kit” including handcuffs and two stun guns, the jury was told during a five-week trial.

Matthews admitted killing Watts, but denied committing murder, instead claimed manslaughter, telling the court that he had tried to kidnap Watts as a way of scaring her into changing what he perceived as her bad behaviour, but the plan went wrong and he accidentally killed her.

Matthews insisted the killing took place while Hoare was in the garden, and that she was not involved.

Hoare, who also denied murder, said she had no knowledge of or involvement in Watts' death, describing text messages she had exchanged with Matthews about kidnapping schoolgirls in the months before as "unfortunate" and "sarcastic".

The prosecution claimed that the text messages between the two, as well as other content found at their home, suggested "a shared unnatural interest in attractive teenage females".

On 11 November 2015, after three hours and 27 minutes of deliberations, the jury found Matthews guilty of murder and Hoare guilty of manslaughter.

Both were also convicted of conspiracy to kidnap Watts, perverting the course of justice, preventing a lawful burial by dismembering and hiding her body, and possession of two stun guns.

Two men, James Ireland and Donovan Demetrius, were cleared of assisting an offender, which related to the moving and storing of packages containing Watts' body parts.

Donovan's brother Karl Demetrius and his girlfriend Jaydene Parsons, who owned the shed where her remains were stored, had admitted the same charge at an earlier pre-trial hearing, though both insisted they did not know the true contents of the packages.

A pervert tried to meet a 14-year-old boy for sex in an Eltham graveyard only to meet a vigilante paedophile hunting group.

Paul Austin-Roberts, 43, from Wilks Road in Dartford, was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on May 12 after being pleading guilty to grooming and attempting to cause a child watch sexual acts.

Austin-Roberts engaged in conversations with what he believed to be a 14-year-old boy, exchanging multiple sexual messages.

He arranged to meet the boy at Falconwood Cemetery, where the supposed teen’s grandparents were buried.

When he arrived there on July 24 last year he was met by members of the vigilante paedophile hunting group The Hunted One.

According to a member of The Hunted One, Austin-Roberts was “very aggressive and determined to get away from the scene.”

Austin-Roberts originally pleaded not guilty to attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming, but changed it to a guilty plea at a later date.

He also pleaded guilty to attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act, and intending to pervert the course of justice.

The pervert avoided prison, as the court handed him a 22 jail month sentence, suspended for 18 months.

He was also ordered to take 100 hours on the sex offender’s programme and 100 hours of unpaid work.

Police have warned against vigilantism after a sting operation by The Hunted One at Bluewater resulted in two passersby getting into a fight with the alleged paedophile.

The Hunted One has said that it will no longer stream sting operations and its website has been taken offline, but the group are still active and posting on social media.

David Nwosu, 21, groomed the schoolgirl online and had sex with her during their second meeting.

Following the attack the maths and computer science undergraduate bombarded another girl with messages and begged her to send intimate photographs of herself.

Nwosu has now been jailed for five years and placed on the sex offenders' register for the rest of his life after a judge decided he was a danger to teenage girls.

Stoke Crown Court, Staffordshire, heard the 12-year-old girl told the Keele University student she was '14, going on 15' after they began chatting online.

Glyn Samuel, prosecuting, said: 'He told her he wanted to have sex with her and would like to make a sex tape with her.

'He sent her two intimate pictures of himself and told her he loved her and if she loved him she would send sexual pictures of herself. She sent pictures of her bottom and breasts.'

Nwosu later met a 15-year-old girl from South Wales on social media between Christmas and New Year last year and asked for naked pictures. At first claimed she was 16.

Mr Samuel added: 'He would send her pictures of himself and asked her to send pictures of herself.

'He requested pictures of her breasts and bottom, was very persistent and told her he was 18.

'She soon confessed she was only 15. He said he did not care and continued to contact her.

'The girl confirmed she sent pictures of her naked breasts. He tried to persuade her to kiss her friend in a sexual way but she would not do that.

'She never met up with him. She knew he wanted her for sexual purposes and nothing else.'

Nwosu, of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, admitted rape of a child under 13 and causing or inciting sexual exploitation of a 15-year-old child.

Rebecca Wade, defending, said Nwosu was an intelligent man, but was immature.

She said: 'The offences have brought shame on his family. He is an intelligent man who has made significant mistakes which will have an impact on him and the victims.'

Nwosu was also handed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order which prevents him contacting children.

Jailing him Judge David Fletcher said: 'It is quite clear you were attracted to teenage girls.'

A Keele University spokesman said: 'As soon as the police made the university aware of this situation the student was immediately suspended.'

A child sex offender found guilty of eight counts of child abuse and child abduction is still on the lose after being sentenced to eight years in prison.

 

Stephen James Powell has gone on the run after he was jailed for the offences.

The 36-year-old failed to turn up to court for his trial and sentencing hearing. Police are appealing to the public to help find the wanted man. He is currently wanted on a warrant issued by Bristol Crown Court.

Powell was found guilty and sentenced for six counts of sexual activity with a child aged 13 to 15 year old and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. He was also tried for child abduction.

It is believed he is still in the Bristol area and has known links to Hartcliffe. He is describes as being white, 5ft 10ins tall, with a slim build, brown eyes and a shaved head.

A statement from Avon and Somerset Police said: "We're appealing for the public's help to find wanted man Stephen James Powell. The 36-year-old Bristol man is wanted on a warrant issued by Bristol Crown Court.

"Powell has been convicted of a number of sex offences but failed to appear at court for both his trial and sentencing during which he was jailed for eight years."

Two paedophiles from Devon who sexuality assaulted a child and livestreamed the abuse to an American paedophile via skype have been jailed today, 26th October.

Craig Forbes, 36 from Torquay and Sarah Gotham, 34 from Plymouth were sentenced to a total of 17 years at Plymouth Crown Court.

The pair were found guilty of multiple sexual assaults against a girl under the age of 13. Gotham was jailed for nine years and Forbes for eight years.

They came to the attention of police after the FBI arrested a man in Florida for the possession of indecent images of children, in Florida. Which led them to Kori Ellis, a paedophile in San Francisco who had struck up an online friendship with Gotham and Forbes.

Gotham and Forbes streamed the live abuse; the child victim was believed to have been drugged at the time to Ellis via Skype between December 2012 and March 2013.

First arrested in 2015, Gotham was bailed, with Forbes jailed for 20 months. Devon and Cornwall police travelled to San Francisco in 2016 to obtain a witness statement from Ellis, Ellis also positively identified Gotham as the woman she saw abusing a child via webcam. Forbes and Gotham were re-arrested and later charged.

Detective Sergeant Brian Slade, from the Devon and Cornwall Paedophile Online Investigation Unit, said he was pleased with the outcome of this case:

We welcome the verdict which has led to these depraved people being put behind bars.

Gotham and Forbes carried out horrendous acts on a vulnerable child. While Forbes admitted what he had done, Gotham has acted completely without remorse and has always claimed that she had nothing to do with it. Her defence, which the jury saw through, was that the woman on the live stream was someone else calling themselves Sarah and using her Skype account.

Forbes is clearly a very dangerous sex offender. However hard we find it as a society to believe that females can enter into such actions for their own enjoyment, the fact of the matter is that there is no excusing that both Gotham and Ellis are paedophiles who acted purely for their own pleasure.

Ellis was very open from the start. She gave an extraordinary account about her behaviour and what had happened with Gotham and Forbes. It is unusual for a paedophile to be so frank; she was a compelling witness although her evidence was clearly distasteful, and at times harrowing for the jury to listen to in court.

This was an incredibly complex case, and the police would like to thank both the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and our colleagues in the American law enforcement agencies, who couldnt do enough to help us.

It was also extremely rare for FBI agents to give evidence in person in a UK court. We would also praise the judge and jury in this case who sat later into the evening on a number of days to accommodate the time difference for USA witnesses.

Todays sentence is also testament to how hard our police investigation team has worked to overcome such obstacles to bring this case to court. This sends a very strong message that we will do everything we can to ensure that the victims of such heinous crimes are safeguarded and offenders are brought to justice.

Howard Phillips, Senior Crown Prosecutor, praised the assistance given by international law enforcement which brought these offenders to UK attention.

He said: With the assistance of San Francisco Police Department and the FBI, the CPS was able to secure witness testimony from an American prisoner who later gave evidence in court; that with technical evidence found on devices seized in the USA was used to present a strong case.

This case shows that wherever online sexual abuse is uncovered, we can work with international law enforcement agencies to pursue offenders and bring them before the courts.

AN actor who was set to play an Ugly Sister in a forthcoming production of Cinderella at Malvern Theatres has been sacked after performing a sex act on a train.

Wesley Mustapha, who performs under the stage name Wezley Sebastian, was arrested by police at Southampton Central Railway Station after travellers spotted him touching himself in a busy carriage.

Malvern Theatres declined to comment, because Mustapha had not been booked by the theatre but by UK Productions.

Martin Dodd, the producer for UK productions said: "As soon as this came to our attention, his contract was cancelled.

"He had never worked for us before. This would have been his first time."

The show's director, David Ball, will replace Mustapha as an Ugly Sister.

The court heard Mustapha had spent a "heavy night drinking" before he boarded the train, which was destined for his hometown of Portsmouth.

Shocked onlookers urged Mustapha to stop, because children as young as ten were in the same carriage.

Mustapha pleaded not guilty to exposure, but was found guilty in absence when Southampton Magistrates' Court heard his case, last month.

Mitigating, Andrew Coley told the court that Mustapha had been under the influence of alcohol as he carried out his "inappropriate behaviour".

Mr Coley said: "He was found with his trousers down. He had no recollection of this and was seen by someone on the train who assumed he was sleeping."

Mustapha, 37, also pleaded to be in possession of cannabis when he was arrested by officers on January 29.

The court heard that as a result of his actions, Mustapha had lost a contract with a Birmingham theatre company after he explained the situation.

Mustapha previously enjoyed a varied career within the theatre an actor, director and choreographer.

He starred as Miss Understanding in Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert Read as well as a cast member of the West End production of Hairspray.

At his trial, which Mustapha did not attend, the court heard that he told officers when arrested: "I do what I want with my body. I understand my actions may upset people. But I am very liberal."

Witness Shane Dartmoor, a bartender, said that he saw the defendant had his trousers around his knees.

He said: He didnt really seem to see what he was doing as wrong.

All I thought about was the other women and children in the carriage.

Mr Dartmoor added: "It was disgusting."

Mustapha, of Old School Drive, Hayling Island, was given an 18 month community order and 100 hours of unpaid work.

He will also need to inform police of any changes to his circumstances for the next five years.

He was ordered to pay 620 costs and an 85 victim surcharge.

Cinderella will be staged at Malvern Theatres from December 14 to January 7.
