Jason Elton John Waller, 33, was convicted in 2000 of indecent assaults against three children and sentenced to three years in prison.

But he went on the run from his home in Plymouth in March this year.

Today Waller was placed on the Most Wanted website run by the UK's Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) as Devon and Cornwall Police attempted to track him down.

Detective Superintendent John Clements, head of public protection at the force, said: "By going missing the risk that Waller poses to children is increased.

"So far we have done our level best to find him through conventional police means and now we want to extend our hunt for him and are using the power of the internet to do just that."

Waller, who lived in Basingstoke two years ago at no fixed address, is known to live a nomadic lifestyle that has taken him to a number of towns and cities in England and Wales.

He is described as white, 5ft 8in, overweight, with short brown receding hair and speaks with a West Country accent. He has previously had a moustache and beard.

Waller is wanted for failure to comply with notification requirements of the Sexual Offences Act 2003, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

CEOP chief executive Jim Gamble said that since the Most Wanted website was launched three years ago, 14 out of 17 offenders posted on the site have been located.

A PAEDOPHILE whose case caused uproar when he was allowed to go free because of apparent police blunders was back in court today.

Child pornography pervert David Berry was hit with an order which means his activities will now be monitored and restricted by the authorities.

Judge Michael Taylor sparked fury in September when he spared 61-year-old Berry, despite saying: “This man fully deserves to go to prison.”

He blamed Cleveland Police for taking so long to bring the case to court and for an officer turning up late to show him the indecent images of children.

The judge also refused to impose a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) on Berry because he said the terms were “incomprehensible”.

Today, a new draft SOPO was put before the court, and Judge Taylor imposed it, telling Berry: “It will apply for the rest of your life.”

The order bans the sex offender from having unsupervised contact with under-18s, and fitting anti-forensic software to his computer.

Berry will also have to allow police risk management officers access to his Hartlepool home and let them examine the contents of his computer.

He was given a community order in September after he admitted 16 charges of making indecent images of children and possessing more than 500 others.

Police found the pictures and short films on six different storage devices during a raid at his home in Lowthian Road, Hartlepool, in July 2007.

Wheelchair-user Berry, who was jailed in 1988 for indecently assaulting a child, was also ordered to undergo a sex offenders’ treatment programme.

At Teesside Crown Court yesterday, controversial Judge Taylor again criticised the prosecution, describing it as “totally unsatisfactory”.

Berry’s barrister, Peter Sabiston, said: “I have discussed the draft SOPO with my client, and the prohibitions seem to be workable and reasonable.”

Last night, Berry’s daughter, Jayne, who criticised the decision to spare her father prison, welcomed the move to carefully monitor his activities.

The 35-year-old said: “He should have gone to jail last time, but I’m glad the order has finally been made, and hopefully it will prevent a repeat.”

A CHILD-killer and paedophile responsible for a New Forest murder has died at an old peoples home.

Albert Goozee, 86, was sentenced to death after his landlady and her 14-year-old daughter were found dead following a picnic near Cadnam more than 50 years ago.

The paranoid schizophrenic was saved from the hangmans noose when the Home Secretary intervened. He was sent to Broadmoor, but following his release in the 1970s, he was later convicted of other crimes including sexually assaulting girls aged 12 and 13.

Just last month it was revealed that Goozee was living in Cedar Court care home in Wigston, Leicestershire, where his dark past was not known.

A national newspaper claimed Goozee had been refusing food and lay in his bed clutching rosary beads. He is thought to have died on Wednesday.

Goozee, a fitters mate and former serviceman, had been lodging at the Alexandra Road, Parkstone, home of Thomas Leakey, his wife Lydia, 53, and daughter Norma before the killings.

On June 17, 1956, motorists discovered Goozee on a forest road with stab wounds, leaning over the bonnet of a car. A trail of blood led to the bodies of his landlady and her daughter.

In court prosecutors told jurors how Mrs Leakey, who was 20 years older than Goozee, had been his lover, and he had decided that the only way out was to kill her and her daughter.

In his defence, he claimed Norma had gone to pick bluebells. He claimed that on her return she had found him with Mrs Leakey and axed her mother, who went wild with a knife.

Jurors took less than four hours to convict him of murdering Norma and a second charge of murdering Mrs Leakey remained on file.

The double murders were depicted in the film Intimate Relations, starring Julie Walters and Rupert Graves, which caused a storm on its 1996 release.

Sex offender could live in the same road as victim

A TEENAGE girl who was the victim of a frightening sex offence in her own home is terrified that her attacker may soon be moving into a house just doors away when he is released from prison.

Daniel Oliver, 21, is serving a four month prison sentence for sexually touching the girl, who cannot be named, at her Southampton home last December.

He had already been jailed for three years for attempting to rape a woman in a garage in 2006 and was on licence from a young offenders’ institution when he carried out the latest offence on the young girl.

Oliver – who has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for life – pleaded guilty to kissing the girl on the lips and putting his hand near her breasts as he embraced her...

'Don’t offend sex attacker' said police, claims victim's mother

A MUM who launched an online petition to stop her daughter’s sex attacker from moving into her street says she has been asked to remove it in case it “offends” the attacker.

The woman, whose 15-year-old daughter was the victim of a sex offence in her own home, has collected more than 200 signatures protesting against Daniel Oliver living nearby when he is released from prison.

Police have confirmed they have made the request to the victim’s family, but said they did so to avoid causing further tensions in the wider community.

Oliver, 21, was sentenced to four months in prison for sexually touching the young girl, who cannot be named, last December.

A WOMAN who was subjected to a terrifying sex ordeal two years ago has discovered her attacker will be released from prison today - and will be living just minutes away from her home.

Mum-of-two Christina Noller, 42, was bundled into a garage and sexually assaulted by teenager Daniel Oliver in April 2006.

Oliver was 19 when he attempted to rape her, leaving her with cuts and emotional scars she is still struggling to overcome.

Now Christina is furious that Oliver will be leaving prison after just 18 months of a three-year sentence and living just a short walk from her Swaythling home.

She is "fuming" at police suggestions that she move house to avoid her attacker and cannot believe she was given just 24 hours' notice that he would be living just down the road...

A PREGNANT mother has been found guilty of sexually abusing children in her Southampton flat.

Now, Clair Winkworth, who has a three-year-old daughter, faces jail.

She was convicted yesterday of eight charges involving two boys and two girls after tempting them into sex games.

Remanding her in custody for reports, Judge John Boggis QC told her: This court has had to listen to the most disgusting things you did to these children.

They were truly awful. You can expect a custodial sentence.

Fair-haired Winkworth, wearing a blue tracksuit with yellow stripes on the sleeves, clenched her fist and grinned when jurors unanimously acquitted of her of sexually assaulting one boy who claimed he had had intercourse with her.

She threw back her head and sat open mouthed when the jury foreman announced the first of the guilty verdicts but then showed no emotion when she was convicted of the remainder on 10-2 majority verdicts.

Jurors had retired for more than seven hours in deliberation.

Winkworth was arrested following a complaint from the father of one of the children.

During the eight day trial at the city crown court, jurors heard of games involving Truth or Dare and Sex Dice at her Redbridge Towers home.

They led to the youngsters pairing off in to different rooms to commit sex acts. She had also encouraged boys to touch her body.

In one video taped interview with a police officer conducted in front of his mother, a boy described how the girls and Winkworth lap danced in front of him and his best friend when they only had boxer shorts on. The girls were dressed in pyjamas and she sat on the settee dressed in red lacy underwear.

Jurors heard of games played with two dice. One had the words suck, tickle, lick and nibble, and the other was marked with various rooms in the flat.

The youth explained: Say I went first. I rolled it.

Say, it was lick and I had to pick someone.We would have to go there and I have to lick part of her body.

When police searched her flat, they seized a Valentines card and two thongs one of the boys had given her, as well as a sex game and sex toys.

Winkworth was found guilty of seven counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and one of having sexual activity with a child.

She denied all the allegations, claiming the children had made up the story as part of a plot so that she would lose custody of her daughter.

After the trial, DC Clair Mason, the officer in the case, told the Echo: This was an unusual case but we take all offences against children seriously and thoroughly investigate them.

A convicted child sex offender extradited from Mexico has been sentenced to a further 16 months in prison.

Andrew Jeremy Eden (15/08/58) was ordered to serve another 16 months for failing to notify police of his intention to travel abroad under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

Eden was convicted of indecently assaulting a seven-year-old child in June 2001. He was sentenced to four years in prison, with a further three years to be served on licence, and forced to sign the Sex Offender's Register.

In February 2005, he was recalled to prison after breaking the conditions of his registration under the Sexual Offences Act. Officers went to his address in Rochdale to arrest him but he was not there and could not be traced.

He was traced to Mexico after a tip off from a member of the public who saw his details on the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre's "Most Wanted" website.

Officers contacted the Mexican authorities to establish whether he was living there. On 13 September 2008 Mexican authorities confirmed they had arrested him and extradition proceedings began.

The extradition was granted in December 2008 but Eden appealed against it. He lost his appeal and officers from GMP's extradition unit travelled to Mexico on Monday 29 June to bring him back to the UK.

He arrived back in Manchester on Thursday 1 July and was immediately taken to a police station.

Detective Inspector Debbie Conlon Houldershaw from GMP's Sex Offender Management Unit, said: "Eden has been proven to be a danger to children. He thought by travelling abroad he would be able to escape the restrictions imposed on him in the UK.

"This shows that Greater Manchester Police will do everything possible to bring these offenders back to the UK.

"This process is not easy and the officers involved have put a lot of work into getting him back so he can be properly monitored and avoid putting any further children at risk."

Jim Gamble, Chief Executive of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre said: "Once again we have seen the benefit of engaging the public through CEOP's Most Wanted website. Our Offender Management team have worked alongside officers from Greater Manchester Police to locate and trace a high risk child sex offender who thought he could avoid being managed in the UK by travelling to Mexico.

"This should send a clear message to other missing child sex offenders; however far they travel, we will track them down and bring them to justice."

His abuse began in 1974 and spanned more than 30 years. Two of his three victims, a boy and a girl, were eight and nine when West began sexually assaulting them. But now grown up, they felt compelled to speak out.

His third victim, a girl of eight, was abused in May 2007.

David Toal, prosecuting, said: "Some of the abuse occurred many years ago in the 1970s and 1980s when the defendant was in his 20s.

"However, he also admitted abuse that occurred in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and also an incident more recently in 2007 when he was a married man."

West, of Cheadle, Stockport, pleaded guilty to 13 counts of indecent assault, three counts of gross indecency with a child and one count of sexual assault on a child under 13.

The victims' families were in court as details of his horrific abuse were read out. In a victim impact statement, part of which was read out in court. One of the victims said West's abuse had `haunted' her.

Barry Grennan, defending, said West's wife had left him and he had twice tried to take his own life after the abuse came to light.

He said West did feel `responsible' for what he had done and did have `insight' into the effect he had on his victims.

West will have to sign the sex offenders' register for life. He was also placed under a sexual offences prevention order, which stops him having unsupervised contact with children. West will be placed on licence when he is released from prison.

Judge Roger Thomas QC told West his offences had had a `devastating effect' on his victims' lives.

Det Con Claire Beach, who led the investigation, said: "West was in his 20s when his abuse started in the mid-70s, and he used the age-gap to take advantage of these defenceless children, robbing them of their innocence.

"However, the victims found the courage in adulthood to come forward and thanks to their bravery, his crimes have finally caught up with him and he is where he belongs - in jail.

"I hope the verdict demonstrates that if people are arrogant enough to think they can commit these horrific crimes and get away with it, they are wrong, and we will pursue people no matter how long in takes.

"I applaud the victims who came forward and would encourage anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse to speak up."

Christopher Bradford, reviewing lawyer for the Crown Prosecution Service, said: "Working closely together with police, the CPS Service has ensured that Alan West has faced justice for the inexcusable acts he has committed."

The three of them walked around for about another hour before they led her to Alexandra Park. Kadir and the other man began drinking alcohol and smoking cannabis. The victim became uncomfortable and attempted to walk off. She was grabbed by one of the men, stripped naked and repeatedly raped. After the men left the woman got dressed and made her way onto a nearby street where she hailed a taxi which dropped her off outside the Queen of Hearts pub on Wilmslow Road. She was met by a friend who described the victim as being 'hysterical' and 'shaking vigorously'. Police were called and an investigation was launched. DNA samples taken from the victim matched that of Kadir. He was subsequently arrested and charged. Detective Constable Charlotte Nutter, of Longsight CID, said: "The victim was clearly lost and becoming upset when she came across Kadir and the other man. "He used the situation to his advantage and subjected the woman to a completely vile attack. "Understandably the victim is still haunted by what has happened but I hope today's sentence will help her move on in some small way. "I am pleased Kadir will now spend many years behind bars where he belongs." Police are still hunting Mamand Rasoulpour in connection with the attack.

A PAEDOPHILE who groomed young girls online before persuading them to perform sex acts in front of a webcam was jailed for five years by a judge sitting at Salisbury Crown Court yesterday.

Gary Palmer, 28, of Hazel Close, Salisbury, who met his victims through Internet chat rooms, was also found in possession of 513 pornographic photographs of children and 355 movies between levels one to four, with level 5 being the most serious type of image.

He was jailed for five years and will be on licence for a further three years.

Palmer will also remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life, was made subject to a 10-year sexual offences prevention order and was barred from having contact with anyone under 18 on his own.

A HOMELESS man who fled from justice after having sex with a vulnerable drunken teenage schoolgirl has been locked up for four-and-half years. Laurence Joseph Stringer left his under-age victim so traumatised by her ordeal that she took an overdose of paracetamol the following day.

But after being charged with having sexual activity with a child he was granted bail - and fled to the South Coast where he spent two months on the run.

The 50-year-old, who was tracked down in Surrey, was sentenced to four and half years at Manchester Crown Court after admitting what he had done.

The court heard that on August 15 last year Stringer lured the girl, who has learning difficulties, back to the tent where he lived near a canal towpath on the outskirts of Hyde.

Earlier that evening she had been boozing with friends in the town centre after an argument with her family.

Stringer was loitering in the area and when he heard that she did not want to go home, and knowing she was drunk, he invited her to go back to the tent with him.

After fleeing from Stringer's clutches the girl slept rough outside a B&Q store.

After returning home and taking the pills she was rushed to hospital, where she told police what had happened to her.

A DNA match identified Stringer and the victim was later able to show the police his lair in the bushes.

Stringer, who has a previous conviction for unlawful sexual intercourse, was arrested on September 3 when his tent was searched.

There, officers found a scrapbook of pictures of young teenage girls around the age of 13 and 14 that had been torn from magazines.

Stringer's victim has been plagued by nightmares of her ordeal, the court heard.

Defending, Neil Usher said that although Stringer had a previous conviction for sleeping with an underage girl it was not 'something he regularly engages in'.

He added that Stringer maintained he had not raped the victim.

Sentencing, Judge Anthony Hammond told Stringer: "Force or otherwise, you had no business having intercourse with girl of that age and that's the moral situation.

"Had you been convicted of raping this girl you would be facing a dickens of a sentence. As it is it's a serious offence to have intercourse with a girl of this age. This was a girl with terrible problems in respect of personality and intellectual capacity and you took advantage of her."

Ordering Stringer to sign the sex offenders' register for life, Judge Hammond told him that when he was finally released from prison he would have said he still had to keep police informed of his movements even if though he went back to sleeping rough. was a rough sleeper.

He said: "If you live on a park bench you tell them you are living on a particular park bench and if you change it you tell them again. Otherwise, you will be in real hot water and you will be going down for a very long time."

A JUDGE fired off a clear message about the seriousness of underage sex by sending a 30-year-old man, who repeatedly had intercourse with a girl half his age, to prison for three years.

Tim Posey had a sexual relationship with the 15-year-old, from Grays, over a number of months, Basildon Crown Court heard.

Standing in the dock yesterday, Posey, of no fixed address, was told by Judge John Lodge, that underage sex was a “serious matter”.

Despite Posey’s mitigating counsel saying the girl had consented to sex every time, and the pair had formed a “boyfriend/girlfriend relationship”, Judge Lodge told Posey: “You embarked on a sexual relationship with a girl who was 15.

“It matters not that she instigated sexual contact on some occasions. The law is there to protect children and that is what 15-year-old girls are.

“You are a 30-year-old man and this was a serious matter indeed.”

The court heard how Posey began having sex with the girl after moving to Grays from his home in Scotland to live with a different woman, in September last year.

The court also heard how Posey, who had no previous convictions and plans to return to Scotland once he is released from prison, now realises his behaviour “should never have happened”.

Posey pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual activity with a female child under 16 at an earlier hearing.

He also admitted an offence of failing to comply with the requirements of a sexual offender’s notification order.

He was told he will serve half his prison sentence before being considered for parole.

A convicted sex offender who sexually molested a six-year-old girl over a five-year period should be locked behind bars for life, his victim’s mother has said.

Coleraine man James Moore was yesterday sentenced to five years imprisonment after being found guilty of indecently assaulting the young girl over a five-year period. His victim, who is now 15, was just six years old when she was first abused by Moore.

A MAN who behaved like a teenager was jailed for four years for having sex with a girl of 15.

On one occasion, 48-year-old Robert Curtis used a video camera to record their activities, Derby Crown Court heard.

They once shared alcohol and cannabis with a teenage couple before having sex in the same room, said Siward James-Moore, prosecuting.

Curtis, who is now 50, was jailed for four years and put on the sex offenders register for life. He admitted sexual activity with the 15-year-old between October 2007 and January 31, 2008.

Curtis also admitted indecently assaulting another girl four years earlier.

The offences were committed while he lived in Duffield, although his address is now in Romsey, Hampshire.

Judge John Wait said the offences were made worse because Curtis encouraged drinking and the misuse of cannabis and allowing other inappropriate behaviour from young people.

He described Curtis as an intelligent and articulate man but told him: A man who behaves sexually inappropriately to two young girls in my judgement plainly presents a real risk of further offending.

Mr James-Moore said that in the first incident, he told the girl she was looking good and squeezed her bottom. She struck him, ordered him to leave, and he did.

In the case of the second girl, she thought she was in love with him and the relationship began after she sent him a text message.

They discussed the age gap, aware that sexual activities would constitute an offence, said Mr James-Moore.

They started having sex before she reached 16 and the girl said that was her idea.

The defendant did nothing to desist from that course of action, added Mr James-Moore. On New Years Eve, police arrested Curtis, who had no previous convictions.

Laura Dawes, in mitigation, said: In some ways, he was behaving like a teenager, perhaps because of a crisis in his life.

She said he deserved credit for pleading guilty and preventing the ordeal of the girls having to give evidence and be cross-examined in court.

Miss Dawes said: Mr Curtis has expressed very real remorse. That is a remorse not focused on himself, although the consequences for him are undoubtedly significant. This is a man who has lost his way.

She said he was suffering from depression at the time and felt there was now a low risk of reoffending by Curtis.

A RAPIST and paedophile who used live maggots during a sick attack on a woman is suing police for wrongful arrest, false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.

Evil Robin Frampton – also known as Robert Williams, above – is using legal aid to claim £15,000 damages even though he has a string of convictions for depraved sex acts dating back nearly 30 years.

Police arrested the 53-year-old from Hampshire for breaching the terms of the sex offenders’ register when he was visiting North Yorkshire.

Now Frampton’s lawyers say he had not committed any offence and was “humiliated”.

The case has already cost taxpayers £30,000.

A man who followed a 15-year-old girl into a toilet before sexually assaulting her was jailed for a year when he appeared at Lerwick Sheriff Court this week.

James Taylor, 39, of Sandveien, Lerwick, had previously admitted to repeatedly grabbing the girls breast and kissing her on the mouth at a party in a bedsit in the towns Union Street on 1st November last year.

During the party, Taylor had been sitting next to the girl and as the night wore on, he moved closer to her and kept placing his hand on her thigh. When she went to the toilet, he followed her in and locked the door behind them before molesting her.

When he was later detained by police, Taylor admitted touching the girl and asking her to come home with him. He said she had told him she was 17 but he later admitted that another adult present at the party had told him she was only 15.

Defence agent Tommy Allan said Taylor, who had been on remand since 25th March pending sentence, had had a difficult upbringing and was yet to come to terms with events from the past where he was a victim but that spending his first time behind bars in the last few weeks had been a serious wake-up for him.

Sheriff Graeme Napier told Taylor that he had been guilty of a very serious offence regardless of the girls age and that he had insisted on making advances towards the girl when she was clearly not interested in you. He added that there was no sense you are aware of the impact your behaviour has had.

He reduced the prison sentence from 18 months because of the guilty plea and Taylor will also be placed on the sex offenders register and added to a list of people who are deemed unsuitable for working with children.
